Brief Answer:
Bone marrow transplant therapy

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Non Hodgkin's lymphoma can be cured by bone marrow therapy.

With high doses of radiation and chemotherapy the bone marrow is suppresd and healthy bone marrow or stem cell is transplanted from the donor to the non hodgkin lymphoma patient.

With this type of therapy 5 year survival rate is 70 percent and cure rate of 75 percent

He cannot drop his pension as treatment for cure of the disease is costly

Brief Answer:
Recurrence occurs 3 years after initial therapy

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Non Hodgkin's lymphoma can come back three years after initial therapy.

Late relapses of Non Hodgkin's disease occurring after 10 years or even later are rare (0.6% of cases only).

No it does not lie dormant in the body

Bone marrow aspiration and biopsy is the confirmatory test to prove it is gone for good.

Brief Answer:
Follow up every 1 month

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Follow up visits for NHL are usually scheduled regularly every few months for at least the first year and then gradually less often.

During follow up to your doctor you have to do complete blood count (CBC) to check for abnormal blood cell counts, blood chemistry tests to show how well certain organs are working and CT scan chest and abdomen
