Question: Pian at XXXXXXX Caine injection site; nerve or muscle damage ? It is at last tooth upper left, did feel pressure at the bottom of eye and a sharp pain. Thank you.

Pain at Novocaine injection site is not always due to nerve or muscle danage abd can be soft tissue injury due to traumatic injection.

So please provide me more details so that I can guide you better.

- Since how many days back have you taken the injection?
-Is there any swelling also present?
-Do you have any difficulty opening mouth?
-Any other associated symptom?

Last Wed. The tenth. I felt it hit something that was very painful and grabbed asst. leg, then a pressure at my eye. Felt like the injection fluid hit the eye hard. So minor the swelling can barely be noticed. No other symptons. No difficulty opening mouth.

I just took an ibuprohen

From your explanation it looks like a nerve prick while injection was given.

Such injuries are temporary and resolve soon.

If you still have pain you can take painkillers like Advil or Tramadol as and when needed.

But if the pain continue even after a week or ten days you should get clinically checked by an oral surgeon.
