Question: Who is a physician in St. XXXXXXX Mo that specializes in tick-borne diseases causing spirochetes in the body?

The patient above had Malaria years ago. Does malaria remain dormant in the body and will it be harder for the patient with hx of malaria to fight off a tick-borne disease? Current symptoms include headaches, nausea/vomiting, chest pain, 103.6 deg fever initially that has broken since being on the doxycycline 24 hours.

Brief Answer:
Yes, Malaria can remain dormant

Detailed Answer:
Dear sir, I have gone through your question and I understand your concern . patients who have recovered the first attack of malaria can experience relapses months to years later.. This occurs because of a parasitic stage called hypnozoites that remains dormant in the Liver cells and can re-activate causing relapse attacks of the infection.
However, previous Malaria patients are not at increased risk of tick borne diasease ..

Is a 10-day supply of docycycline enough to fully kill organisms from a tick bite? Is a long-term antibiotic necessary to fully kill the organisms during all their replication cycles? If organisms are embedded in tissues, can the antibiotics still kill them?
