Brief Answer:
Cold water should not be the direct cause.

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query,

I understand this could be disturbing, especially if you are getting this for the first time.

However, cold water on its own cannot cause swelling. Cold water instead could help in reducing swelling (inflammation).

Otherwise, the swelling could arise from something else. First, this could be maybe because eyes were traumatized or an infection.

I suggest you stay calm and watch for a couple of days. Taking a simple anti inflammatory drug like Ibuprofen for two days and observing to see how it goes could be sufficient for now. You might have to stop touching the eye at this moment.

In case of persistence or aggravation, you might need to see a doctor for examination. I however do not think it should that direction.

Thanks and kind regards as I wish you the best of health. IN case you have specific questions, please do not hesitate to ask. I would be more than grateful to contribute.

Kind regards,

Dr Bain

I am sorry I forgot to mention that a little piece of a bath bomb popped up and hit me in the eye which is the reason that I was rinsing I under cold water in the sink then I noticed several minutes later that lacrimal caruncle was red and irritated and puffy. I was wondering if that should be cause for concern, today the eye isn't puffy or swollen but still feels a little irritated.

If at all helpful the ingredients in the bomb are
Baking soda, citric acid, Dead Sea salt, Epsom salt, water organic XXXXXXX butter, Organic cocoa butter, sunflower oil, essential oils, oat flower, ground XXXXXXX petals, ground chamomile flowers, ground linden flowers, vitamin E, kaolin clay.

Brief Answer:
No worries, no aggressive measures required, be watchful and calm.

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the update surrounding the circumstances.

I do think you need not bother much and at this point, it not necessary to use any aggressive measures.

Cold water, and a simple anti inflammatory drug is sufficient.

I advice you stay watchful and simply use cold water if need be or any simple anti inflammatory drug. In case of any aggravation, you might see a doctor. But I doubt if it could get there.

Thanks for the update and kind regards as I wish you the best of health.
