Brief Answer:
What is your blood pressure?

Detailed Answer:
HI and thank you so much for this query.

Please, can you tell me what your recent blood pressure readings have been? I will like to make sure we are talking of the same thing. High blood pressure in a hypertensive on treatment would usually be beyond 140/90.

True medications may not always control the blood pressure perfectly. However, you are already on several medications for high blood that failure to get good values is concerning. Beside drugs, regular exercise, weight loss(if you are overweight), decreased salt intake, decreased fats and increased vegetables, fruits and fibers.

Chlorthalidone is a diuretic and very similar to HCTZ. I will first want to see your numbers and make sure you incorporate these diet and life style measures before we move to switching and changing drugs.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
