Can I Give Metrogyl For Stomach Pain In Children?

Question: Hello doctor,
My daughter is 4 years old... She has stomach pain from yesterday night and mild fever.. I gave her cyclopam for stomach pain.. Loss of appetite too... Only one softstool in the morning with foul smell ... Still she has stomach pain... Please advice whether I can give her metrogyl...

I have gone through your query and understand your concern.
Your daughter is having stomach infection and it needs to be taken care of.
I would suggest the following-

Continue cyclopam for stomach pain.
Soft bland diet for 3-4 days.
Multivitamins for loss of appetite.
Lots of water orally.
Metrogyl or ofloxacin-ornidazole suspension as antibiotics.

So yes you can give her metrogyl, but the antibiotic combination mentioned above will have better coverage.

You can give any of these.
The syrup will be easier to give rather than tablets.
