Brief Answer:
exercise is always good when done in required amount

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

At age of 66 with problem of anxiety mild to moderate exercise is good for health as well as for anxiety also.Do not go for any severe exercise.

You can go for walk to slow running. Increase severity and duration of exercise gradually. During walk try to take deep breath. With exercise you can improve heart and lung functions which in turn will help in anxiety also.

You can discuss more with your doctor. He can say more after proper physical, cardiac and respiratory examination that which type of exercise will be beneficial.

Hope I have answered your query, I will be happy to help further.

Regards,
Dr.Chintan Solanki.
