Can Chlamydia Infection Be Contracted Through A Non-penetrative Intercourse?

default
Posted on Wed, 12 Apr 2017
Question: Hello. I recently discovered that I have chlamydia, which apparently has been asymptomatic. Due to a prostate cancer procedure, I cannot ejaculate or pre-ejaculate. Given this condition, is there a significant chance of my transmitting the infection? I already have notified my partner. Thanks.

Brief Answer:
The transmission risk of chlamydia infection to your partner, in your conditions is very low.

Detailed Answer:
Hello! I have been through your question.

Related your concern I think you should know that chlamydia is transmitted through sexual contact with the penis, vagina, mouth, or anus of an infected partner and ejaculation does not have to occur for chlamydia to be transmitted or acquired. Chlamydia is a bacterial infection that is usually spread through semen and vaginal fluid.
So based on the above mentioned fact the transmission risk of chlamydia infection to your partner without pre -ejaculation and ejaculation, if you don't take a treatment during this time, is very low.
Furthermore I suggest to start as soon as possible a treatment for chlamydia (usually I prescribe azythromicini) and in the same time your partner should get a test for chlamydia just as a way to prevent it.

I hope my answer helps you.
I wish you a quick recovery.Feel free to ask me further.
Regards.
