Can Cataract Surgery Lead To DVT In Leg?
Question: I had cateract surgery on one eye, then within 10 days a DVT in one leg. Subsuqent tests positive for lupus anticoagulant. Could prescribed eye drops or XXXXXXX from surgery have anything to do with complications? Previous physicals always good, no health issues before.

It seems from the history that you have undergone cataract surgery and after 10 days of cataract surgery you have developed deep vein thrombosis in one leg.
Cataract surgery or the eye drops used in the post operative period or anesthesia given for cataract surgery are not associated with risk of deep vein thrombosis.
The common risk factors are deep vein thrombosis are immobility which follows surgeries on abdomen or limbs or bed ridden times because of infection or any other illness. Since cataract surgery won't require immobility it is not associated with risk for deep vein thrombosis. Lupus anti coagulant are on of the known and strongest risk factors for development of deep vein thrombosis.
