Can Biting Transfer Hiv? I Made Out With A Girl

Posted on Wed, 24 Apr 2019
Question: Can biting transfer hiv? I made out with a girl in a nightclub recently and she playfully bit me on the neck. There was no bleeding or marks. I derma-rolled the next day. My lymph nodes on the neck were swollen next week. No fever or any other symptoms. Should I worry?

Brief Answer:
Your HIV risk is almost 'nil'

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.
Playful biting has no risk for HIV Transmission.
The girl could be free from HIV.
Human saliva of a HIV infected individual is not infectious. It will be infectious only when it is contaminated with blood due to some oral problem in the presence of an infection.
When there is no injury or breach of skin due to bite, then there is no risk.
Application of derma-roller on the previous day of bite could have the possibility of your risk and definitely not with the subsequent day applications.
Lymph node enlargement could not be due to HIV infection. But this could be possible with derma roller application. You need not worry about HIV infection due to this act.
