Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Yes, it may help a little with hemorrhoids. However it wont prevent you from the surgery. Please note that the surgery is the only way to permanetly cure hommorhoids. Other mothods are only to make them better in case of hemorrhoids inflammation or blood clot in hemmorrhoid.
Instead of muscle relaxing medicines you may try:
- sitz baths with Oak Bark
- fiber rich diet along with probiotic intake
This should help with the pain, but it wont cure them. As you do not have large intestine, it is hard to normalize stools. Maybe you should consult a surgeon if there is a possibility to make a J-pouch surgery (if you avent had it done before).

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.

Regards.

The J-pouch is out no thanks I'll deal with the pain. But at the same time I am trying to see if I can make the discomfort that I have in the early morning when I have the most of my bowel movements. The Hydrocodone helps and I only take 2 a day in the early morning. But if a muscle relaxer would help more then I think I can do without the surgery.
What I am looking at is the recovery time from that surgery won't be good for me because of my having so many bowel movements. I mean I have to eat and sometimes it just takes a cup of coffee or just the thought of food to send me to the bathroom.
I'm retired and am just trying to see how things go switching from the pain meds to something different. Will you give me a prescription so I can try it?
Thank You XXXXXXX

Detailed Answer:
In such case muscle relaxing medicines can help indeed. Especially if you feel that you have some muscle spasm in the rectum when passing the stool.
Muscle relaxing medicines are used to treat rectal fissure. So it might give some effect.
Unfortunatelly I am unable to give you the prescription. You should get it from your doctor. You may try Nitroglycerine cream to relax rectal muscle.

Thank You,
I have an appointment with a specialist at the end of October. My Gastro Doctor gave me the prescription for the pain meds to give me some something for the pain and I don't think that is a long term solution to surgery that I am not wanting to have and I have had a few so that doesn't concern me it's this one and having to get thru the healing and that doesn't seem easy for someone like me and my plumbing I mean food goes right thru me.
I am looking into the sitz baths with Oak Bark as I have never heard of that and that was worth talking to you alone with the other information you have giving me.
Maybe I can get things better and avoid surgery.I have been told that my internal hemorrhoids when swelled up don't cause gas back up and bother me but it doesn't seem that way to me.
Thank You

Oak Bark helps with inflammation and tissues swelling and as a result can decrease the size of hemorrhoids. It should not be used more often than twice a day.
Just few words about healing post hemorrhoids surgery. Please note that the tissue which covers intestine from the inside has better than skin healing abilities. Wound can get healed in few days in this area. However, as you have noticed, frequent diarrhea does not help with this process. Maybe instead of classic excision, more acceptable for you would be rubber band ligation surgery of hemorrhoids. This method allows to close hemorrhoids without making wounds. You should discuss it with your doctor if all non-surgical methods will fail.
