default
Posted on Thu, 14 Sep 2017
Question: I have what appears to be a flap of my tonsil hanging loose towards the back of my throat. No discoloration same pic color as the interior of my mouth. The tonsil appears to have crevice where the flap should go. No pain, sore throat absolutely no symptoms.

Tonsillar mass

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to healthcare magic and thanks for putting up the query
In the picture it appears to be a mucosal cyst in the tonsillar pillar and hanging. It seems to be a benign condition only but still I will advise you to get yourself examined by an ENT SPECIALIST. in situation of doubt it can be excised and biopsied.
Any further questions are always welcome.
Take care
Thanks and regards

Thank you for your thoughts on this. if you can see in the picture the "extended piece" fits back into the crevice/cavity just above it. would this be typical of a Mucosal cyst in this area?

Brief Answer:
Tonsillar mass

Detailed Answer:
Hi
That area is the tonsillolingual arch and is normal. The clear bulge in mucosa is probably a mucosal cyst.
