Can Testim And Androgel Be Used While Having Pulmonary Embolism And Bladder Cancer?

Question: My doctor is prescribing Testim for a low testosterone problem. It is so expensive, I can't use it.
My insurance company will cover Androderm or Androgel.
I have had a P/E and taking Xeralto working with a hematologist to monitor the clot issue.
Is there any issue why I should not to try the Androderm or Androgel.
The side effects seem the same.
I have all the bad stuff togo along with the P/E. Bladder Cancer, Sleep Apnia, High Blood Pressure, etc.

Brief Answer:
Testosterone contraindications;

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I read carefully your concern.

I would like to inform that both Testim and Androgel have testosterone as main ingredient.
If you had history of pulmonary embolism and have urinary problems after intervention for bladder cancer, the use of testosterone is very risky and is considered contraindication.

So I wouldn't recommend to use it.
Wish you good health. Feel free to ask further

Kind Regards,

Your answer does not help to solve my problem.
For several years I have been taking large doses of pain medication for a spinal fusion at L-3 thru S-1. The daily dose of (30 mg. x3) 90 mg. of morphine and
(8 mg. x4) 32 mg. of Hydromorphone have stopped my production of testosterone. This has left me with no energy and the ability to easily become depressed.
I have to somehow raise my testosterone level. At 66 nature is not just jumping in and doing the job.
I am willing to take some risk.

Brief Answer:
The difference between testim and androgel.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
First of all we have to give medical opinion about a query that you have. We can not suggest to take it when it is a contraindication.
The desicion rather to take risks is yours.
If you have decided to start it, or if you are using Testim, you should be under close medical supervision.
Androgel and Testim contain both testosterone but the difference is that androgel is less absorbed and does not raise the testosterone level too much.

According to studies that used the same dose of Testim and Androgel (50 mg), total testosterone, dihydrotestosterone, and free testosterone were greater following the application of Testim compared to AndroGel. Approximately, 10% of Androgel is absorbed on average. Obviously, the "PLO" or delivery system of Testim is likely somewhat higher with more than 10% being absorbed on average.
This could be of help in your case, where the level of testosterone should be maintained at the lowest normal ranges.

Hope the information will help.
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
