Can Methadone And Oxycodone Be Taken Together?

default
Posted on Tue, 5 Aug 2014
Question: what happens if you take methadone and oxycodone together. I'm trying to get off of the oxycodone so I ran out of them, but I had some methdone left from a year ago when I quit once before so I took a methadone. Thanks XXXX

Brief Answer:
no significant interaction

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to health care magic forum.
I am Dr Aslam here to help you.
There are no established significant interactions between methadone and oxycodone.
Anyhow, both belongs to opioid class.so any effects may get added up-so its better to avoid,as side effects like respiratory suppression can be added up.
Hope your query is answered.
Take care. Thank you.
