Brief Answer:
Can be given if high fever persisting;otherwise wait for 6-8 hours.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX welcome to HealthcareMagic.
Thanks for posting to us.

What your doctor has given is paracetamol, antihistamine and an antibiotic(azithromycin). This combination is usually given for suspected respiratory tract infection.

The usual dosing frequency of paracetamol and mefenamic acid is 3-4 times a day(every 6-8 hours). So it is better to wait for 6-8 hours before repeating the dose, unless persisting high fever demands.

Also, note that if the fever is not responding to the given drugs after 24-48 hours of starting, or she is having other features like abdominal pain or vomiting, we need reevaluation and review of antibiotics. In this case, kindly avoid further delay in getting back to your doctor.

Meanwhile, let her take bedrest. Give enough oral fluids. Do tepid sponging.

Hope this will answer your query.
