Can I Use Spiriva In Place Of Qvar And Ventolin Inhalers For Mild Asthma And COPD?

Question: I have been diagnosed with mild asthma and COPD. (83 yrs old)
I take Q-Var for asthma regularly and Ventolin when necessary as needed (very seldom). Never have had a serious asthma attack. My personal impression is that my COPD is a bigger problem than my asthma. Since having a bad episode of flu in December I'm having a significant increase in shortness of breath even after mild exercise. I would rather not take a corticosteroid as Q-var. Would Spiriva be a good substitute for treating both conditions? Another suggestion?

Brief Answer:
Yes, Spiriva is a good option.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Yes, Spiriva (Tiotropium) is better than Q var and Ventolin inhalers.

In fact, the combination of Formoterol (long-acting beta 2 agonists), Tiotropium (long-acting Muscarinic antagonist) and ciclesonide (inhaled bronchodilators) are best for your condition.

This triple combination is better than Spiriva alone.

Hope I have solved your query.

Wish you good health.
