Question: I have an internal stye in my lower right lid. Can I take medrol for it? I take medrol for allergies when they are severe.

Hi,

Using Medrol (steroid) for a stye is not recommended in evidence-based practice. However, it is commonly prescribed by current gen doctors off label just to get quick results.

I still prefer Oral antibiotic along with compresses and Oral NSAIDs as when required for stye.

If it is recurrent stye steroids are better avoided.

Thank you. The stye has broken and is oozing out. I have been cleaning it with warm water mix with baby shampoo.
