Brief Answer:
Diovan cannot lead to low sodium!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks so much for getting to us.

Diovan is a commonly used drug for the treatment of hypertension. It does not cause or lead to low sodium. The only known electrolyte imbalance that can be caused by Diovan is increased potassium.

In all, low sodium is not caused by Diovan. How low are your values and what other medications are you on? This might be guiding at exploring possible causes.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with me if need be.

Have been on divan for a few years. The low sodium condition showed up a few days after a pneumonia vaccination which had me not feeling well for several days

My sodium level was at 118. After a quart and a half it XXXXXXX to 124. After that I went to emergency room and received 1 liter of fluid and my level dropped to 120 . At that point they sent me home.

That was a quart and a half of pedialite

Brief Answer:
I will say monitor only!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

That low sodium should at least cause some symptoms. Without any, I will suggest that we monitor only. Follow up with a weekly review and probably cross check with another laboratory or another laboratory method.

I wish you well.
