Brief Answer:
Amitriptyline is an antidepressant.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. Amitriptyline is an antidepressant and not indicated for bowel related issues. However in stressful people with type A personalities have shown some benefit from it. Eating disorders if any can be considered for an off label use of amitriptyline. However sensitive esophagus should be assessed and worked up for the cause which likely appears to be gastric discomfort like acid reflux and dyspepsia.

Talk to your doctor and modify diet and lifestyle and see if it helps. Eat small frequent meals, avoid spices and sweets, chocolates, alcohol, beverages etc.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.

Khan
