Brief Answer:
yes, aleve can be taken

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

Yes, aleve (Naproxen sodium) can be taken for the lower back pain. For adequate relief a muscle relaxant like tizanidine or cyclobenzaprine should be added. Local voltral emulgel application and physiotherapy with diathermy will help in an early recovery with lesser chance of complications. If the pain doesn't respond to the above then imaging investigations of the spine including x rays(initially) and MRI (ultimately) can be advised. Gabapentin or pregabalin and amytriptiline can be advised for severe pain that doesn't respond to the above novel treatments, in consult with your doctor.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
