Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
Vaginal scraping and ECC are done only in suspicious cases. In case there is any pus or abnormal discharge or there is any lesion on the cervix. If there any abnormal transformation zone detected in endocervix after acetic acid or Lugol's iodine solution then only a biopsy is taken. These are not taken routinely for all the patients. Vaginal swab is taken to rule out any infections.
