Brief Answer:
It takes time for the problem to resurface

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

Although I am not aware of the problem for which trazine H was started for your mother but there is two possible reasons for not having any problem on discontinuation.

As you know trazine H is used for treatment of psychiatric condition, it is possible that over the years of use the problem get cured with medicine and she no longer need medication.

The second possibility is prolonged effect of medication even after discontinuation. Over the long time of use trazine H makes necessary changes at the receptor level and that changes may remain effective over the months even after discontinuation. It is possible that same this is applicable to your mother and she do not get any problem even after discontinuation.

In my opinion it will be wise to be extra alert for resurfacing of original symptoms in your mother since medication is discontinued. I do not find anything irrational as trazine h is used for conditions which have life long course.

I hope this helps you.
If you have more questions feel free to write back to me.
Thanks and regards.

Thanks for the good update :
But here some little case details that I was getting to know now:
I believe she had a nervous break down 10 years ago and so she was recommended to have trazine h, when I realised that this is for the first time just read up and found this is used for physchatric case and just checked if I stop will it effect .
For 4 months she did have any problems but of late she is feeling that I am feeling funny because she not having the medicine and my sis who came to know she has stopped the medicine shouted at her.
So now she feels she is sick and needs the medicine.
I am going to visit a physchatrist to find out if she actually need this.
Doctor will stopping this cause any effects, because actually I have personally seen that she was fine.
It only after everybody got to know that she feels guilty and is wanting to have the medicine.
Doctor the second thing I want to know was having this medicine for life long is it going to cause some other adverse effects ,
Thanks for answering the first part looking forward for a good advice and solutions
Thanks in advance

Brief Answer:
It is generally safe even after use of 30 years (my experince)

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for reverting back to me.

First regarding safety and long term side effects I like to make it clear that the medication is completely safe and not associated with any significant long term side effects. To be XXXXXXX I have at least five patients who are using this medicine for last thirty years from generation of psychiatrists and doing well without any side effects. Having said this it is important to follow up regularly so the problem, if any can be detected at early stage and remedial measures can be taken.

Now regarding the stopping medicine. It is well known and established fact that most of the psychiatric conditions last long and same thing is applicable regarding treatment. If you stop medication without doctor's advice it is possible that she may get same symptoms or even severe on stopping medication. This is due to the fact that disease symptoms emerge once treatment is discontinued.

In fact few patients fail to respond to medication on second time if the medication is stopped prematurely. So it will be wise to see your psychiatrist as soon as possible or without delay.
Hope I am able to answer your concerns.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
If not, you may close the discussion and if possible you may rate the answer for my future patients.
