Brief Answer:
may be an increase in blood pressure

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

There is a potential interaction between benicar and naproxen.

Naproxen belongs to the family of drugs called NSAIDS.

NSAIDS have the potential to decrease the blood pressure lowering effect of medications belonging to the benicar drug family.
This is because they may inhibit the production of particular chemicals called prostagladins.

This means that there is the potential for blood pressure increase. You can consider monitoring your blood pressure to make sure that there are no increases.

This is the main issue associated with this drug combination.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

Hi thanks yes this helps a little. I was real lethargic about four hours after taking both medications (to the point that I could not keep my eyes open).

The drug is wearing off and suddenly I am feeling a lot more energy. Do you think this could have been a result of that effect?

Is there something that I can take to relieve pain safely while still taking Benicar?

Brief Answer:
drowsiness most likely zyrtec

Detailed Answer:
HI

The interaction between the naproxen and benicar is the main interaction but this is not normally associated with excess drowsiness.

It is possibly the zyrtec , though it is suppose to be non drowsy that is causing your lethargy.
Some persons have that effect with those medications. You may want to consider discontinuing the zyrtec first and see your response, it would take up to 24 to 48 hours for XXXXXXX improvement after discontinuation.

Increases in blood pressure which is the main interaction possible with naproxen and benicar, should can cause you to feel fatigue.
This is mainly treated with monitoring, it may or may not increase.
