Question: mid dec. 2017 appox. 2 weeks after a hemorrhoid scope I developed a rash mostly at my joints (wrist, elbows, shoulders, knees and ankles). my dermatologist gave me topical lotion to reduce the itching. about a week later I developed an ache in my upper groin area when I sat for long periods as a 2hr, drive. then I developed right lower back pain just above my right hip. my g.p. sent me for 1.CT XXXXXXX and without XXXXXXX 2. lower intestine barium scope 3. a urologist performed a scope up my pinus to look at my bladder and kidneys. 4. consultation and stool test with my gastrologist (twice showed no blood in my stool) 5. blood test showed I was anemic and urine analysis showed blood in my urine. all other procedures showed nothing. during this period of tests I also woke up one night and started to vomit bile (yellow acidity flem) I went to the local hospital and when I went to the bathroom I had blood coming out at the end of my urination and then again at the beginning of urination (red,pink, then yellow) . Also CT was done on my kidneys and bladder and again nothing showed up. the urologist prescribe tamsulosin hcl 0.4 MG 1 a day for 3 months and my gastrologist prescribed 2 stool softeners twice daily. here it is march 9th 2018 and I still have the same issues. any help? thanks XXXXXXX Lombardi

Hello,

The rashes on your joint are possibly unrelated to the hemorrhoid scope. Had it been related, it would have occurred immediately.

The blood with urine could either be due to a urinary tract infection or due to prostatic problems. The urine needs to be tested for routine microscopy and culture sensitivity.

Otherwise possibly the decision to prescribe tamsulosin is the correct one. Use stool softners, take green leafy vegetables and plenty of fibers, take plenty of water to drink.
