Are Horizontal Folds On The Scalp Indicative Of Cutis Verticis Gyrata?
Question: Hello,
I'm a British national currently working in Qatar. I have a son who is almost 15 years old. I have been cutting his hair since he was very young; however, over the past year, I have noticed a few horizontal folds at the back/middle of his head. So I googled to find out what it may be yesterday to discover a condition called Cutis verticis gyrata. I just wanted some guidance on how to go about getting him any necessary treatment. Which doctors specialise in this as in dermatology or neurology, etc.? Also, he's almost 15; therefore, would the condition worsen as he gets older? Any advice would be highly appreciative.

He for real has Cutis verticis gyrata. It is very minimal and needs no treatment at this time. Unless these become even more numerous and disfiguring, there is no need to do anything. Should in future this becomes concerning for cosmetic reasons, surgery would be the best approach.
