Brief Answer:
Explained below

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Burning sensation/ tingling or peripheral neuropathy is one of the not so common side effects of Nitrofurantoin. If you were slightly allergic to Microbid from the beginning, it was required of you to stop the medication and to substitute with another potential antibiotic. Since you have finished 5 day course of the antibiotic, I would suggest you to consult with your treating physician tomorrow and discuss the need for Gabapentin to treat the neuropathic symptoms.

Meanwhile, you can try massaging your legs with oil or try soaking them in lukewarm water, this can help soothe the burning sensation.

If you find your symptoms to be worsening, please go to the ER, soon.

I hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards
