Question: hello Doctor I am in a confused state of mind.. I was travelling between 10th and 13th of March to hotter city.. I used swimming pool and then also the beach but all was fine on 21st night I had fish what my mom had cooked which wasn't really nice to eat and it was a new kind of fish somewhere I am not sure post eating or before eating I developed red rash bump which was itch and red the next day I went to doc he said it is Shingles and put me on high dose medication and asked ant the symptoms I told just I have itching and and that too on and off.. I could see the next the same crusting and I never encountered any blisters and the medicines were distressing Me as such hence I decided to take a second opinion and the next doctor told me it is not shingles and stop medication .. I am confused because only sometimes it itches and when I put pressure on that area slight aching.. Please advice..

Answer few questions

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

I have reviewed the attached photographs and need to ask you a few questions:

Is the rash present only on one side of the body?
Is it in the form of solid bumps or fluid-filled blisters?
The bump on the back is present for how long?
Is the bump on the back is associated with any symptoms like itching or burning?

I shall await your response

Brief Answer:

Not shingles, most likely an allergic reaction

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

According to your complaints and reviewing the photographs it was not shingles.

Most likely it is an allergic reaction. Even the back bump seems to be allergic in nature. You can apply cortisone cream on the affected area. Twice daily for a few days.

Hope I have answered your query.

Take care
