Question: Because of low platelets my dentist said a transfusion will be needed before removal of 4 teeth for a partial plate to be put in.Is this normal for a dentist to ask me for?

As far as low platelets is concerned see what happened is patient with low platelets is associated with high risk of bleeding during and after surgery . So preoperative transfusion of platelet are more effective in prevention of postoperative hemorrhage in patient undergoing extraction (removal of teeth) . This is normal dentist can ask you for transfusion and can give you platelet infusion at time of surgery.
