Are Penta II And III Vaccines Very Important For A 6-month-old Infant?

Posted on Tue, 2 Apr 2024
Question: my baby is 6 months old and while having the regular vaccination, my doctor said that Rotavirus (1,2,3)and PCV (1,2,3) are optional vaccine and can be skipped if want and I did not opt for the same and given only Rotavirus 1 and PCV 1 (6 weeks) and skipped during next vaccine at (10th week and 14th week) which included Penta II and Penta III respectively as while discussing with different doctors, I got mixed review hence skipped. But recently while searching for the same, I found that it is highly recommended to have this for children. Please advise if this is required or can be treated as optional vaccine and if recommended, how can I have this as I skipped the Rotavirus 2/3 and PCV 2/3.
Please assist.
Thanks beforehand.

Brief Answer:
Missed vaccines

Detailed Answer:
Hi...greetings from XXXXXXX ..as a Pediatrician I recommend that you give all vaccines for your kid.

My logic is simple... option is only for money and not for the scientific reasoning.

Who knows who gets what disease. As parents and Pediatrician, it is our duty to protect the kids when there is an option of the vaccine.

As your kid is already 6 months, you cannot give Rota vaccine anymore.

But now I suggest -
At 6 months - PCV 2nd dose, Influenza 1st dose
At 7 months - PCV 3rd dose, Influenza 2nd dose - to be given.
