Approximately 5 Years Ago I Started Having A Feeling Of

Question: Approximately 5 years ago I started having a feeling of pressure and discomfort in my lower jaw. Felt like it was coming from my lower bottom back tooth. Also, the discomfort and tightness when up and behind my ear. Saw Oral surgeon and ENT. ENT ordered MRI but nothing showed. Over the course of 4 1/2 years I had numerous CT’s and MRI’s but nothing showed but inflammation. Since this time have seen neurologist and again an ENT. Started getting swelling and pressure from my jaw up to my cheek and up the side of my face and back of my head. Now the swelling has moved across to my mouth and now have numbness in my lips causing drooping of my lower and upper lip on one side. Yesterday I woke up and my lower teeth felt like they were so tight. Tried to floss through my lower teeth and I could feel the tightness and pressure.

Please tell me what type of medical doctor I need to see.

Want to add one more thing that occurred. Approximately 15 years ago I went to see my oral surgeon because I was having this pressure in my lower back teeth. My surgeon said he wanted to know if I was having any problems with my jaw that he didn’t like what he was seeing in the cone scan. At the time we were heading to Florida for the summer and my problem wasn’ t like it is today so I blew it off. I have gone back to the same oral surgeon 6 months ago to asked him what it was he saw. He could not remember and did not have any past records as they had changed computer systems and could not retrieve his old records. What my husband and I recall is it had something to do with my submandibular or mandible and possibly a vascular issue but have no way to confirm.

The numbness and pressure in this side and mouth has me greatly concerned.

Brief Answer:
Hii. It's evident from your symptoms that you are having pain lower jaw rad

Detailed Answer:
Hii. It's evident from your symptoms that you are having pain lower jaw radiating up to the ear. You also have swelling of the face, tightness of lips. First of all I need to emphasise on that repeated CT reports and MRI were normal. Please don't undergo repeated CT as you are exposed to lot of radiation in everytime. It's looking like you may be having temporomandibular joint arthritis or enlarged styloid process. Do a x ray styloid process and review back.Styloid process are cartilage or bony projection behind the jaw. If it got enlarged then it can cause pain. But the treatment is excision. If you have repeated swell6of face you need to consult any physician to rule out cardiac, nephrology causes. Tightness of lips may be due to many autoimmune disease. Start vitamin b and c complex. If you are having deviation of face with drooling of saliva then you need to consult an Ent surgeon who will check the facial nerve function. Revi6with reports
