Any Medication Is To Be Prescribed For Pain After DPT Vaccine ?

Question: my son was administered DPT vaccine on 09 oct. he has been having pain in his leg and is limping while walking since then. any medication is to be prescribed for him.?

Hello,
Thank you for posting to us and I understand your concerns.

It may be due to inflammation there. If there is no fever now and the overlying skin is normal to appear , We need not worry.

Just give him ibuprofen three times daily for three days. if there is no improvement, Kindly consult your doctor for direct examination. Rarely this may indicate infection and cellulitis which may need antibiotics.

If you do not know the dosage of ibuprofen, let me know his body weight. I will guide you accordingly.

You can give him SYRUP IBUGESIC (ibuprofen 100mg/5ml) -give 5ml, 3 times daily for 3 days. If this is not not available, can give SYRUP IBUGESIC PLUS(ibuprofen +paracetamol)in the same dose.
