About Three Weeks Ago I Developed Sinusitis . A Few

default
Posted on Mon, 24 Feb 2020
Question: About three weeks ago i developed sinusitis. A few days later it turned into bronchitis. The doctor put me on a steroid and an antibiotic. A week later, after finishing the AB and steroid, I was substantially improved, probably 75% better. At this point I am about 90% improved, but I just can't shake that last 10% for the last 10 days, I have an occasional cough, which sometimes is productive. I have been told it could take weeks. I might have a very low grade fever, maybe just a point or less higher than normal. Is it just waiting game? That is, I just have to wait for my body to get rid of it, or is there something I should be doing?

Brief Answer:
An antihistaminic

Detailed Answer:
Dear sir, I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns but it is very important to take your temperature carefully.. if at any time fever develops then you should take another course of antibiotics.. However if it is just a point or two then this is considered a normal diurnal variation in body temperature that should not raise any concern..
As for the coughing then I would recommend that you take an antihistaminic as citrizine once daily before going to bed for 10 days. It is also important that you keep yourself adequately hydrated to prevent the mucus from getting thick. I hope you find this helpful..
