Question: About 6 weeks ago I lost feeling in legs playing golf they could hold me up and things just felt weird and like they wasn’t going to hold me. Then two weeks latter playing golf my whole right side felt like that. Along with hand burning. So I went and got blood work done and it came back good. Now the last 4-5 weeks and I have had calf pains mostly in my right leg and also tightness in my right forearm. Also around my rib cages hurt sometimes. Like my whole body is inflamed. I told the dr I looked online these sign like ms symptoms or als symptoms and he didn’t even check me is just sending me to a neurologist. Does this sound like one of them two disease to you? I’m so worried I haven’t eaten in 8 days. Please help.
Thanks, XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
It is unlikely MS or ALS.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the query,
The symptoms are unlikely suggestive of MS or ALS.
Possible pain conditions like fibromyalgia or muscle fatigue are possible causes.
Anxiety can be possible cause as well, Do you suffer from any anxiety related issues or experience any form of unwanted anxiety?
If symptoms persists a neurological disease evaluation including MRI scan is required for reassurance.
Hope I have answered your query.
Thanks

Yes I have in the past suffered from anxiety. Could any of my medicines clash and cause these muscle problems. I wasn’t really worried until I went to dr and said my symptoms are like ms and he said yes they do you need to go to neurologist and now my mind has gone crazy
Thanks

Brief Answer:
Anxiety may be the cause.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Anxiety can be a possible cause. It is also not because drug interactions.
Your symptoms are not sufficient to diagnosis multiple sclerosis.
Avoid unwanted stress and anxiety. Relaxation techniques like yoga and meditation can help a bit.
However you can undergo a neurological evaluation including an MRI scan to rule out MS, it will give you reassurance and great relief.
Thanks
