A What Causes Sudden Cloudy Vision In My Right Eye Despite Removing My Contact Lens?

default
Posted on Fri, 15 Mar 2024
Question: All of a sudden yesterday, my right eye felt as if something was in it and became a little cloudy. I thought it was my contacts so I took them out. Things still looked cloudy. A little later, the eye became a little painful. I just had an eye exam a month ago and he said my eyes looked great. I have scheduled an appointment, but it won’t be until next week. He is out of town, Should I go to the emergency room?

Brief Answer:
Go to ER only if worse and not better after following some advises.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Thank you for posting your health concern.

I read it carefully and I understand your concern.

From what you are describing seems like something got into your eye and caused some irritatation.

If it is still painful, then maybe the foreign thing may be still into your eye. Try to have a look at a mirror, or ask someone to look for you. You can also wash gently the eye with a lot of tap water, and in most cases it goes away.

If you have natural tears drops, I would suggest to use them for couple of days, 5 times per day to keep the eye moisturized.

If you have a red eye, a continuing painful eye and not getting better, a blurred eye not because of the tears but constant blurred, then I would suggest going to the ER.

I hope this is helpful.
Let me know if you have other questions or concerns.

Regards,
Dr. Papaqako.
