Hi, Iam neha i have vitiligo from past 15 years, so many treatments have already done including davlin phototherapy chamber but my phototherapy treatment is stopped due to my transfer. Now iam using melgain lotion and melanocyl lotion and doctor advised me for target phototherapy. Is this treatment is good and whether i should go with targeted phototherapy or not?

doctor1 MD

hi neha,
if your vitiligo problem is limited to certain areas of the body, then targeted phototherapy is a very good treatment as the rest of the uninvolved skin is not exposed to uv light.
you can go ahead and take it.
all the best to you.

Hi Dr, My son had a fair skin at birth. After 3 days, as per doctor's instruction phototherapy was done due to jaundice. His skin started changing color and slightly turned to dark skin. Now he is 3yrs and 2months old, does he recover his original color again?

doctor1 MD

Hi...many babies have fair skin complexion at birth. The physiological jaundice you are quoting is not related to the present skin complexion of the baby. The skin complexion is related to his genes and the complexion of both the parents.
