Sympathetic nervous system

What is Sympathetic nervous system?

The sympathetic nervous system is a part of the AUTONOMIC Nervous System (ANS). It is the part of the brain and spine which gets your body ready to do something energetic (like running when you are scared). So it increases your heart rate, your blood pressure, makes you sweat to cool you off, etc. So you can loosely say that the Sympathetic System is the seat of your FIGHT or Flight response.
