I am 22 year old healthy girl who has hirsutism . Before starting laser hair removal I went to the dr. to see if this is a medical condition. The dr. did some tests and it turns out I don t have PCOS , my hormone levels are fine so he said it might be genetic (my dads side of the family is hairy). My prolactin levels were high but he said this is weird since I am I am not pregnant, my periods are normal, and I don t have any breast secretions. He reffered me to a endocrinologist since he wasn t sure. Can I still start laser hair removal now even with high prolactin levels?

doctor1 MD

Hi...dear jenna.,
Thanks for choosing HCM..,
There is no relation between prolactin levels..,
and hair removal by LASER..,
So many hair reduction procedures available..,
in LASER side ....consult good dermatologist..,

is it necessary that hair on the chest be removed before going for tmt test. my husband aged about 40 got two different results . it was proved positive when tested with out hair removal.and after one week tested in another hospital after hair removal it has proved negative.he has no symptoms as such he had just gone for general health checkup

doctor1 MD

Hi,
Chest hairs if excessive are generally shaved before going for TMT as presence of hair alters the TMT result due to conduction problem.
So the test with hair removed is considered true & final.
Thanks

doctor1 MD

Hi,

Thanks for the query.

Side effect profile of any medications varies among individuals. As you have been taking Doxycycline tablets from last 2 weeks, and you do not have any side effects, it means doxycycline is fine for you. It is an excellent antibiotic for any skin infection. Just keep in...

Dermatologist gave me some creams and right now I m Using ProActive. Seems to help but the acne is still there It s been over 4 months! Is there a stronger cream or medication I can use? Please help! Thank You!

Hello. Most of the OTC hair removal products cause infection of hair follicles, which sometimes get severe with bacteria. You might need oral antibiotics, to control infection.
