What is Blalock taussig shunt?

It is a surgical procedure for babies that has heart defects affecting the oxygen rich blood they need from the heart. a big artery from the hearts is connected to an artery from the lungs so that oxygen rich blood can temporarily flow. This can be done until corrective surgery for the heart defect can be done safely.
