My question concerned a test to see if my "weak muscles" were caused by nerves in my legs. If I get the test, and get a positive report, is there anything that can be done to help my balance? I don't see the reason I should go through another expensive test.

lUMBAR SPINE mri READS : The axial images demonstrate a bulge at L4-L5 that effaces the thecal sac with a far left lateral greater component impinging upon the left neural foramen. There is also a bulge at L5-S1 effacing the thecal sac. What does this mean? Would this cause numbness and tingling in the lower left back area into buttock and on top of left foot?

I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

If you are certain that there is no accompanying weakness of the lower limb and face on the right, then a brain issue is unlikely (usually there is weakness involving the whole half of the body and face). It would be more likely in...

my brother is 80 years old, healthy until a few months ago. He started having muscle cramping in his arms and legs along with weakness in his hands. Having difficulty holding a tennis racket.,glass. etc.
His doctor sent him to a neurologist who did a mri ,lab work and an emg test. he only came back low in
B12. All other values were normal. They found spinal stenosis in C3 to C5. He was sent to a spine surgeon
who told him he could operate, but it may not help the problem. He went to and ortho surgeon for a second
opinion. He told him he may not need spinal surgery but on examination found his fat pad by his thumbs
had atrophied. He recommended a neurosurgeon for further treatment. The neurosurgeon thought them mri
results could be a red herring. And didn't think that surgery would correct the cramping and weakness.
He was told to go back to his neurologist. which he did. The neurologist sent to a colleague for a second
look at the symptons. After the second neurologist did a thorough exam, he too felt that surgery was not the
answer and recommended a second emg which will be done on the 26th. He is very frustrated and told
me that the weakness is getting worse.
I work in an O.R. and have asked someof surgeons, but no answers. I feel bad I can't help.
Could you help ? Thank you

Hi Sir,

I have bowel issue from last 2years.

Based on observations through this period I found out following:

1.) I swallowed whole boiled corn after the nyt meal. Next day I found out that the corn was out in the first two bowels, So how do I get 6-7 bowels a day.................
So through this I found out that food is running fastly in my intestines.

2.) It all started in 2016 march. After very bad lifestyle in XXXXXXX Feb 2016 I came back to XXXXXXX in march.
After coming One habit which I started was eating fruits empty stomach specially apple and pinnapple. Though I started it for purifying the body, I didn't knew that it could be my worst mistake. I remember it all started with endless stools (watery). and I just ignored them..............
So these are the trigger foods especially raw things.
today also these leads to diarrhea.

3) the thing is that I can feel the movement of intestines, and soaking of water from by body to the intestine. the whole mouth gets dry all of sudden...........

Few questions

1) so based on these symptoms my gastro has prescribed me VSL #3 capsules(probiotics).
he said he didn't want to give IBS diarrhea medicine becoz it can lead to constipation. since my diarrhea occurs mostly when I eat trigger foods.
Is this a good way of treatment.....?

2) I can feel the movement of intestines. some kind of breathing also leads to the water flow into it, that's why I remain cautious whole day and whenever I get to that kind of breathing I think of something else........

Is it totally psycological ? or it's becoz of bad condition only that I can feel them.

3) Last yr end I did got some kind of relief but i am not sure which was leading to it. That time I done the course of prebiotics (same capsules) for 15 days and also I took UNANI medicines around that time. also I took Homeopathic medicines.

So I wanna know can we take probiotics and unani medicine together......? so that I don't have to wait for next 15 days to start unani. Will probiotics be effective if taken with unani or some homeopathy medicines.

4) Can u plz guide me if you have any suggestions for me.

5) I really don't know whether it's IBS or whether it's totally psychologically or any other disease because my gastro has examined me various time throughly and no other symptoms of IBS are present in me.
No pain, no weight loss, no loss of appetite.

Thank You...

And one more thing my medical history is that I had stomach gas problems from 2013-2015. which I ignored that tym. also acid reflux, burn in stomach sometimes.
and in 2016 XXXXXXX Feb exactly before the problem started I experienced a lot of gas formation in intestines.

I get severe gas pains in my stomach and chest. As well as bloating. This has been going on for about 2years has started happening more frequently, like 2-3 times a week. When it happens it causes vomiting, sometimes fever and chills. The pain is unbearable! There seems to be no ryhme or reason. Sometimes when all I've had is water. Sometimes I wake up with it even after a long nights sleep. I've done a lot of research and it doesn't real sound like acid reflux or heartburn. It's not a burning it's pain and gas.

Brief Answer:
Except fever all other symptoms are highly suggestive of IBS.

I usually have a bowel movement within 2 hours of eating. I have multiple movements per day. I have no pain, but my stomach is constantly very noisy. My stool is lighter in color, soft, the consistency of somewhat melted lumpy icecream. When I do have a bowel movement, I also pass a lot of gas with it. But I do not pass gas during the rest of the day, only when I am on the toilet. I have no cramping and no nausea. It's hardly ever normal in consistency. I looked at the symptoms for IBS, Celiac disease and gluten intolerance and the symptoms do not match.
