What is Phosphodiesterase inhibitor?

There are some molecules(so called signalling molecules) inside the cell called cyclic amp which up-regulates functions of the tissue like making vessels big(vaso-dilatation) and relaxation of heart muscles.These molecules are rapidly destroyed by an enzyme-Phosphodiesterase. Phosphodiesterase inhibitors are the molecules which increases the life of camp thus having some clinical benefits.
