What is Iodine?

Iodine is a chemical element with symbol I and atomic number 53. Iodine is needed for the normal metabolism of cells. Humans need iodine for normal thyroid function, and for the production of thyroid hormones. Iodized salt is table salt with iodine added.

I have Graves' disease which lead to two iodine treatments and a thyroidectomy in which hey found a small tomour.

But what I was wondering is it safe for me to eat sea food? Or any food with iodone in it considering everything I said above?

My whole body mult findings ... Abnormal activity is present at the thyroid bed. No abnormal activity is identified outside of the thyroid bed. No evidence of distant metastatic disease.

I have had normal blood pressure all my life and recently it has spiked up to 175 or higher. My MD told me to monitor it for a week and I have. Something has made me feel so nauseated I ended up in ER. They did a couple tests, a CT scan with iodine, blood and urine tests and found nothing. This has been going on since last week and I don t know what to do. My legs are achy from the knees on down too. I have no appetite at all. I m sorry I thought this service was without fee.

For about the last 6 months, both of my eyes are swollen when I wake up in the morning. The swelling goes down after I am up for a while.
