What is Co-amoxiclav?

Co-amoxiclav is combination of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid. Certain bacteria produce an enzyme which make the bacteria resistant to amoxicillin. Clavulanic acid protects the amoxicillin preparation resistant to the enzyme produced by the bacteria.
