What is Cefoxitin?

Cefoxitin is a cephamycin antibiotic often grouped with 2nd generation cephalosporins. It has a wide spectrum of activity, active against both gram positive and gram negative bacteria including anaerobes. It is used in treating skin and soft tissue infections, also in bone, genito-urinary tract infections, sepsis and post-surgical cases.
