What is Arixtra?

It is the brand name for drug fondaparinux sodium. It is used in prophylaxis of deep vein thrombosis in patients undergoing hip fracture surgery or hip replacement surgery or knee replacement surgery or abdominal surgery. Also used for treatment of acute deep vein thrombosis and acute pulmonary embolism.
