What is Wernicke's encephalopathy?

it is neurological disorder caused due to deficiency of vitamin b1. also known as Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome or psychosis. seen in chronic alcoholics, prolonged starvation, malnutrition. 3 components of the classic triad of Wernicke encephalopathy are encephalopathy, ataxic gait, and some variant of oculomotor dysfunction.
