Questions and answers on "Soft tissue injury"

I poked my knee with a plam tree splinter, if you are sitting down and touch your right knee from the side on the outer soft spot, that is where the 1cm splinter went in, and it has been hurting since, I cant put any pressure on my leg. The splinter did not stay in, it was pulled out and did not break off the palm tree branch. I have been limping since, as if I had a sports injury, i know its not an alergic reaction because I also got poked on my left leg and both hands and they are fine. I have iced my knee and have an ace wrap on it, but still hurts bad.

Also its not swollen

The pain developed 2 weeks back when he suddenly increased the running distance to 5k at once. Although the last week, the pain is slowly going down, he isnt being able to run. Ever since, he only walks daily but the pain isnt receding. He weighs 81 kgs and is 5'10 in height. Could you suggest a solution?

Hi doctor, 5 days ago as I bent into my washing machine (to remove washing) I seemingly lost my balance and felt my weight - mainly left side of my chest virtually 'fall' into metal edge of washer bowl, actually hearing/feeling a 'grind' of my upper left rib bone. Affected area's been extremely sore to touch and have to be very careful moving my arm in any direction and unable to sleep on my left side
Could/would there be a bruise/crack or fracture?...... Any recommendations ? remedies ?.... thank you

I have seen one neurologist here in Boston and have been recently diagnosed with cervical dystonia after years of headaches, oral medications for headaches and muscle tension, physical therapy, accupuncture with no improvement. I also have a hx of c5-6 herniated disc in my neck, and recent soft tissue injury in 2011. I m floored with the dx of dystonia and have been getting Botox injections with oral amitripyline for the past 6 months with no real improvement. Should I get another opinion to be evaluated any differently for other causes of my neck, r shoulder pain and headaches?

Hello, My daughter is 14 years of age. She has been quite active and enjoyed doing sport and dancing as well as acrobatics. On 13 November she fell on her back during a sports period and I took her for X rays that did not show any abnormalities and they though it may just be a soft tissue injury or hurt muscles. Since 6 months ago she has experienced a lot of back muscle pain in her lower as well as her middle portion of her back. I have taken her for physiotherapy and also administered anti inflammatory medication (iboprofen) but with no real relief. I was refered to an Orthopaedic surgeon who also did an assessment and said nothing seems to be wrong but if I wanted to make sure I could take her for an MRI. At that stage and after a lot of money I did not have the $600 for the MRI and decided to try another round of some physio, but to no avail. My daughter has attempted to do sport but even running or swimming proves to be a severe challenge. She also mentions that the pain feels like it may be in her bones / vertebrae as well. Could this be the symptoms of another condition that I may not be aware of? Kind REgards, Melissa

I got the pertussis vaccine a couple days ago and last night noticed a tender, movable, hard, ball just above my collarbone. I remember this happening about 10 yrs ago when I got a flu shot in the same arm, in which I had a soft tissue injury in that shoulder just before the injection. This time the ball is much more sore. Could it be a single lymph node, building immunity? Is this common, and should I see a doctor?
