I had an ultrasound about 1 month ago and my gallbladder looked fine. They did find kidney stones however. I am treating them with homeopathic medicine. Yesterday I had a ct scan because of pain I thought was from kidney stones. The report mentioned partially collapsed gallbladder but it was listed as an impression. There was no concern by the doc. My issue is i did some research and it said it could be normal from digesting food, or irritated/diseased. I hadn't eaten anything but chicken a few hours before. Thoughts?

doctor1 MD

Hi,

Thanks for the query.

Gall bladder may be empty or collapsed in ultrasound. That is because the bile juices have been emptied into the intestines. This would occur whenever you have eaten anything. Collapsed gall bladder is not a sign of disease, only thing is that if it is collapsed you can...

i have had kidney stones on both kidneys for 12 years, but now the ct scan shows a small stone in my spleen. Is there any reason to be concerned with spleen? currently take Urocit K and Uloric for kidney stones. Most kidney stones, although at times very painful pass on their own. An average of 3 a year have to be removed from ureter yearly. Will I likely have to have the stone removed from my spleen?

doctor1 MD

hi there,

kidney stones and spleen stones are two different things. calcific density in the spleen is called calcification. it is not a stone and it is not something which needs to be removed.

As we grow old calcium deposits can be seen in various tissues including blood vessels.

Do you have a...

This is what my test results say. I am freaking out as a friend of mine just lost a kidney to cancer. I can't get an apt for a urologist for 2 weeks. Should I be worried? The right kidney measures 10.8 cm in longitudinal dimension. The left kidney measures 10 cm in longitudinal dimension. Several calcifications are seen in the left kidney, measuring up to 5 mm in the interpolar region, compatible with nonobstructing calculi. There is a probable parapelvic cyst in the upper pole of the left kidney, measuring 9 mm. There is no hydronephrosis. There is no intra-abdominal ascites. The imaged proximal portions of the aorta and IVC are unremarkable. IMPRESSION Nonobstructing left renal calculi. No hydronephrosis. Hepatic steatosis.
