It is a chronic systemic disease characterized by severe pain, swelling, and changes in the skin, initially affects an arm or a leg and often spreads throughout the body.Results in multiple functional loss, impairment, and disability,the symptoms of reflex sympathetic dystrophy syndrome typically begin with burning pain, especially in an arm, finger(s), palm of the hand(s), and/or shoulder(s).
