What is Primary aldosteronism?

Aldosteronism due to the direct defect in the secreting organ, adreal glands, is called primary aldosteronism. Causes can be adrenal hyperplasia, adrenal carcinoma, etc. It leads to increase in mineralocorticoid production, resulting in secondary hypertension.
