What is Patent ductus arteriosus?

Patent ductus arteriosus is a heart disease in which there is abnormal connection between heart chambers leading to mixing of non oxygenated blood with oxygeneted blood. Sometimes it can get cured spontaneously but in some cases it may need surgery.
